Caleb was a camel with a very big problem. He was made to cross wide, hot deserts. But Caleb was afraid to leave his stable, which made him feel like he was worthless. That is, until God chose him to go on a long journey with the Wise Men as they followed a special star to see an important Baby.

Spiders. Darkness. Heights. Clowns. Everyone is afraid of something. The fears that begin in childhood often linger with us for the rest of our lives. It is important for our children to learn, early on, how to handle fear and keep it from ruling our lives. A trip across the desert was a big change for Caleb and contained all kinds of scary "unknowns." But when he heard that God wanted him to be a part of this journey, he decided to give it a try. He knew that he needed to obey God, even if he was afraid. With the special star reminding him that God was watching over him, he didn't have to be afraid when scary things happened during the journey. In fact, he found out he actually enjoyed traveling. Caleb's story reminds us all that obeying isn't always easy. Following God can involve risk. But no matter how hard or scary things seem, if we are doing what God wants us to do, then we can trust Him to take care of us. God was there for Caleb, and He'll be there for us, too.
