Susanna Wesley
By Sandy Dengler- Susanna Annesley Wesley, wife of Samuel Wesley, and mother of John, Charles, and Samuel Wesley, three outstanding stalwarts of the faith, was a remarkable woman. By thirteen she could read Greek and Hebrew, was well versed in Scripture, and had already formed strong political and theological views. Her life, though strong in faith, was one of poverty, illnesses, opposition and heartache. Of her 19 children, only 10 survived; however, none of her trials squelched Susanna's spirit or her determination to teach her children to honor God and obey His Word. |
